How the “Plus belle la vie” series reinvented itself

On the shooting of the first floor of the Belle de Mai studio, there is excitement about the completely new decoration of the medical office. “Come on girls, this video is totally lacking in energy. You can do better. With more juice, it would be funnier!” Behind her combination, director Claire de La Rochefoucauld encourages her duo of actresses. In front of the camera, Marie Hennerez, alias Léa Nebout, dynamic mother and doctor for six seasons of the series A better life, plays a young actress whose name should be kept secret for now. “Tension demands,” recalls the director. And there will be no shortage of them.

Because if the DNA of the soap opera that stopped in November 2022 has been preserved, i.e. “a smart mix of everyday life, social issues, comedy and thriller” – according to Clémentine Planchon, the producer -, the style has changed. “We started with an almost blank page,” she explains. With a semi-renewed writing team, we wanted a fresh take on the characters and the story.”
