Stylist Isabelle Thomas agreed to guide us: “There is a very bright red, a softer red, a glossy red, a matte red… But if you are shy, you can wear red as an accessory“, she emphasizes. “Red bag, red socks, scarf…”, and here the choice is multiple. The most daring can therefore take out their most beautiful red coat from the wardrobe, and for the others nice nail polish will do the job just as well.
What to wear with red? Another color seen on the runways this winter: grey. The good news is that it goes very well with red, provided you know how to choose the right material: “Kashmir, mohairprefer natural materials that carry color well,” advises Isabelle Thomas, who recommends, for example, “wool suit for men“The advantage of gray is that it goes well with a lot of colors, unlike black, which is very difficult to combine,” adds the stylist, contrary to the popular opinion about the neutrality of black.
What look to adopt?
As good old jeans, practical and affordable, rest assured, they are far from going out of style. But be careful, although this piece is timeless, the denim set trend, very popular last summer, is no longer current. This season, back to the classics. According to Isabelle Thomas, two good pairs of jeans are enough: “Dark or raw, like the real color of the jeans,” explains the wardrobe expert. “White jeans” are also still popular“especially in winter, because it brightens the silhouette”, she notes.
Finally, on the cutting side, the trend is towardshuge, in other words, loose clothing. However, oversize doesn’t mean wearing a sweater three sizes bigger than you or an oversized sweatshirt with oversized jogging pants. Just the opposite, you can wear baggy clothes and still look stylish and elegant : “It can be a jacket with dropped shoulders, very wide trousers, but with a pronounced waist. Oversize allows you to create a relaxed, modern look, like an ultra-chic suit,” explains Isabelle Thomas.
AND example of clothing : raw jeans, “flair” cut (high-waisted, widened at the bottom), a slightly loose shirt with slightly rolled-up sleeves and a small red sweater that can be worn over the shoulders. And for going out, a beautiful gray woolen coat and leather ankle boots. The advantage is that this look suits both women and men.
