Sophie Mallet ended 2023 in style

Last month, after the first selection of 50, 10, then 5 candidates, Sophie Mallet became the winner in the “Beauty” category of the artistic make-up competition. She presented herself within her company, in front of a jury of eminent experts – among them was Clotilde Souriceau, make-up artist, among others, Bilal Hassani – in order to recognize her talent as a professional make-up artist based on three criteria: originality, creativity and technique.

CQP as a makeup artist consultation moderator

Just following a path that was far from planned, young Cantalienne – more precisely from Mauriac – has been basing her professional life in Mireval for three years. Enrolled in law school in Montpellier, in the third year of her degree in civil law – which she obtained -, Sophie faces the facts: the careers available to her do not suit her.

A radical change of course: she completed the aesthetic CAP, then the CQP (certificate of professional qualification) for a make-up artist-consultant, which opened the doors of the labor market wide for her as an employee. However, from 2019, he plans to be self-employed.

“The pleasure of being at their service”

She meets Aurélien, the son of a baker’s family from Mireval. They get married in 2021. Sophie becomes a Mirevalaise and a professional make-up artist at home. The award she received for the second time (the winner was in 2021) confirms, if necessary, the relevance of the choice of profession, about which this discreet woman speaks as clearly and calmly as she does passionately. “The range of intervention of a professional make-up artist is richer than it seems and I love all its aspects” she says.

It ranges from classic, customized enhancement, on the occasion of weddings or other special events, the beauty of its clients, with “the pleasure of being at their service”, artistic make-up, which appeals to his taste for drawing; his inventiveness and his knowledge, from the spectacular eccentricities of the Halloween night to the collaboration on photo shoots, especially with the photographer Camille Lafon, which we recently talked about on our pages.

His wish? Makeup on series or movies

It also offers independent make-up courses, always at home, and travels, by appointment, through the Hérault and Gard departments. What I like the most is the variety of encounters that this activity offers me. “, slips Sophie. What does he want for the new year? She would like to participate, as a make-up artist, in the filming of series or movies, which are increasing in the region. The proposal has been made.
