The day of December 13 will be remembered by Jean-Philippe Blanchette-Perron for the rest of his life. He will even bear the consequences of the day when one of his heated insoles caught fire on his right leg.
A construction worker from Trois-Rivières is doing a little better today, even if he can’t put his shoes on. I started walking two weeks ago
he testifies in an interview on the show Always in the morning. It’s good for my morale to be active, to be able to enjoy my family life a little with a girl at home, because I’m constantly out of work.
On this December morning, Jean-Philippe Blanchette-Perron was working on a construction site in Montreal wearing heated pads, the same ones bought by a dozen of his colleagues last month. I didn’t use them all the time
specifies. (December 13), I’m getting dressed before a meeting with the foreman who gives us assignments. After the meeting I got out of the construction trailer, took the tools, gathered the necessary materials for the task I was supposed to do, then the battery caught fire.

According to his testimony, the soles of the feet were on and positioned on alert when he felt one of them was more than warm.
It took me a split second
he recalls. I started to untie the boot. I saw someone close to me. It hurt so much that I laid down on my back and started shouting for help.
He started pulling my boot, I pushed with my foot. It lasted eight to ten seconds, no more, but it had time to do a lot of damage. I will remember it all my life: when he took off his boot, I saw the skin behind him.
Jean-Philippe Blanchette-Perron describes the pain he felt as excruciating. It hurts a lot, a lot, especially a burn in contact with air
he expresses. This is where we feel the greatest pain.
He had to wait between 40 and 50 minutes before an ambulance arrived. Even today, he struggles to understand how he could bear the pain. I don’t even know how I endured it
he wonders. I’d rather pass out.
Witness to prevent
The Trifluvian calls for vigilance after his experience. He hopes that his testimony can serve as a warning message to anyone who would be tempted to get heated pads. He believes that the battery of this type of product should be outside, not inside the trunk.
He was part of a group of colleagues who made a joint online purchase of heated pads. He claims workers took the time to read reviews before ordering the product.
It was sold several times, then we really looked at all the comments before buying, because we didn’t know the brand
he says. When the incident happened, we came back to do evil review (bad review), and then we saw that it happened to someone else, not me.

Currently, Jean-Philippe Blanchette-Perron is focusing his energy on his recovery, but he intends to take steps
from a single manufacturer.
The person who ordered sent the photos to the company and we are waiting for feedback.
he begs. But as for me, I’m sure I’ll try to take steps, because it doesn’t make sense for a product to do that after even a month of use.
